When the well-known artist, Clem Crosby, was commissioned to paint façade panels to decorate the new extension to the Young Vic Theatre in London, he chose a thick version Kolorbond paint. He then produced a large number of painted artworks on black cement boards.
Each artwork was individually painted in Clem Crosby’s studio. When fully dry, the painted boards were placed in partitioned packing cases and transported to Technispray in Birmingham.
To protect Clem’s art works, Technispray sprayed each panel with a coating of clear Kolorbond lacquer containing UV absorbers to protect them from London weather and pollution.
After the theatre walls had been clad with these works of modern art a stainless steel mesh was added to the face to complete Clem Crosby’s vision.
Technispray Kolorbond are proud to have been chosen to produce the paint for this project and trusted to protect the art with Kolorbond lacquer.’
